K vine hospital is a community based private hospital that was started in “2012” by a team of health workers to promote and improve the healthcare delivery in Tooro and western region at large. K Vine Hospital has registered success in its operation reaching out to over 100,000 in and out patients in the community seeking affordable and specialised healthcare. Many people including mothers, children, youths, teenagers and adult people have responded to the call of the hospital that is focusing on improving their lives through education and treatment at affordable costs. The hospital offers vast healthcare and specialised medical services and due to its vision, the operations at the hospital are intended to meet the requests of the community to meet their rights to health easily and effectively.
Why Vine Hospital Exists amidst challenges
K Vine Hospital serves people of all races and is located in Fort Portal city. Services are offered to both citizens and non-citizens of Uganda. The philosophy is based on none discrimination in race, religion, color, economic status among others. The foundation for the initiation of the facility is to serve the community so as to access affordable and specialised medical services to all people in need of health care. 
Our achievements 
Over the years, Vine Hospital has conducted several operations. Its upon our intervention in offering specialised medical services that blessed the facility to be accredited as a blood transfusion center where over 20 blood packets are collected at Vine hospital premises Fort portal Kisenyi bwamba road. Vine through the directorate procured the anesthesia machine, patient monitors and surgical support equipment. However, demands to ensure good care and surgical outcome is based further purchase of machine that are still demanding. 
Our Current focus 
1.    Children with clef pallet 
Health care is increasingly becoming a threat to life style and growth of children, mothers and the adult people. In the support of community support through access to specialised medical services, Vine hospital has resumed to offering care to children with clef pallet to children so as support growth of children preventing malnutrition caused by the effect of disability. Currently 8 children have been operated in pursuit of offering better care at a free cost to mothers and the facilities would wish to have partner health personnel and institutions in continuously offering the specialised services in terms of finance, and personnel.
2.    Pregnant mothers and unborn children
Children care has been a global goal so as to reduce early death among newborn and children below 8years of age. However, to ensure proper care and health of the children, it’s the responsibility of mother with support the health fraternity through increasing awareness and medical follow up on attendance of 4 ANCs. The facility is readily available to reach to the rural community so as to support better heath of the unborn child till the day of giving birth through health care education, examination and delivery. The cost attached to the intervention is thought about and any support to the facilities in the early intervention will be of great contribution to community health support. 
Challenges and/or limitations  
Though serving the community has been the philosophy for Vine hospital, some challenges still pose threat on medical service delivery to the management and the general medical and support staff. 
Future projections 
Kani Vine hospital has not only focused on offering healthcare and specialised medical services, the hospital intends to increase blood donation to over 50 per month, conduct community health education, conduct specialised operation to children with clef pallet and also boost 4ANC attendance among pregnant mothers.
